On behalf of our teachers and staff, I welcome you to Hutchinson Middle School! The focus at Hutchinson Middle School is student achievement. With this in mind, we pause long enough to celebrate our academic milestone of an API score of 818, but then press on to the task ahead of us:  the current academic needs of our students.  With a strong team of committed teachers, dedicated staff members, and supportive parents, our students have a great structure in place to become successful students and citizens.  We provide an academically challenging environment with opportunities for acceleration in our math classes, a language arts program that is supported by balanced literacy strategies, and our Honors Program designed to academically challenge our highest performing students.  We also provide before and after school tutoring to support students requiring additional instructional support.

Our Math Science Technology (STEM) Magnet provides an in-depth study of mathematics, science, robotics, and technology through a variety of learning experiences, including multi-media projects and presentations, field trips, guest speakers, and academic competitions.

Students are offered a variety of enrichment activities, including Academic Pentathlon, Leadership/ASB, Band, Guitar, World Percussion, AVID, and Honors opportunities.  Students can also participate in our athletic program providing opportunities to participate in track and field, cross country, volleyball, football, soccer, basketball softball and cheerleading.

I encourage parents to become involved in our Parent/Teacher/Student Association (PTSA), our Site Decision Making Team (SDMC), our English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), or volunteer at school activities, and take an active role in your child's education.  We value positive communication between the school and home, so please don't hesitate to contact us at (562) 944-3268 with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Sara Siemens
